Pop-up concerts to mark the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner's birth
As part of the premiere of the new #freebruckner programme on September 8th at the Brucknerhaus Linz, the Stegreif Orchestra will also be playing two pop-up concerts in the centre of Linz. In the anniversary year 2024, the mission of the Stegreif Orchester and the Brucknerfest is to bring the music of the birthday boy out into the city on September 5th and 6th. The pop-up concerts will feature excerpts from Bruckner's works, creatively altered and transformed and enriched with improvisational elements. For two days, Bruckner and his music will be omnipresent in the streets and squares of Linz, in the station concourse as well as in churches and museums, true to the motto "200 years and not a bit quiet". The programme of the International Brucknerfest Linz will of course include recompositions by the composer, in particular excerpts from the 7th Symphony in E major, which will enter into a symbiosis with modern musical trends through improvisation and performative elements.
