For the first time, the Stegreif Orchestra is being supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. As part of its commitment to promoting young talent, the foundation is opening its sponsorship circle to the music education approaches of a contemporary ensemble for the first time and is supporting the Stegreif project: play_full. In this project, the Stegreif Orchestra is taking on a one-year mentorship of two youth orchestras: the symphony orchestra of the Gymnasium bei St. Stephan in Augsburg and the Landesjugendensemble Neue Musik des Landesmusikrats Berlin. As part of this mentorship, Stegreif is passing on its knowledge of individual and group improvisation, re-composition and performance practice. The young aspiring professional musicians will be intensively supervised and coached by five members of the Stegreif Orchestra in a total of three workshop phases. The final workshop phase will conclude with a public workshop concert, which the young people will conceive and design themselves.

We are very much looking forward to the creative work phases with the young musicians, during which we will not only be able to pass on our knowledge, but also absorb a wealth of new ideas. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation for making the play_full project possible with its support for young musicians, and we look forward to working together.
